Why ready mixed concrete
Firstly what is concrete? Concrete, its when aggregates are mixed together with dry cement and water, this mixture forms a fluid slurry that can be easily poured and molded into shapes. The cement reacts chemically with the water and other ingredients to form a hard matrix that binds the materials together into a durable stone-like material that has many uses. Often, additives (such as pozzolans or superplasticizers) may be included in the mixture to improve the physical properties of the wet mix or the finished material. Most concrete is poured with reinforcing materials such as rebar embedded to provide tensile strength, yielding reinforced concrete.
Any person can mix concrete, you just need to understand the basics, see illustrative diagram aside. The hard part only comes when one has to mix more than three cubes, in reality it becomes un-economical viable, hence the ready mixed concrete. One would still say what is ready mixed concrete, it is the concrete that is manufactured in a factory or batching plant, according to a set recipe or concrete mix design, and then delivered to a work site, by a truck mounted in-transit mixers. This results in a precise mixture, allowing professional specialty concrete mixtures to be developed and implemented on construction sites. The first ready-mix factory is believed to have been built in the early 1930s, but the industry did not begin to expand significantly until the 1980s, and in South Africa it has continued to grow since late 80s.
